    Thanks for your article, is a good thing to introduce people to meditation.
    As you asked for comments, I would say that for a beginner, my suggestion would be to work mainly on 2 areas:
    first the posture, whether sitting on a chair or on a cushion on the floor, trying to find a balance between the energy needed to keep the body erected and the relax is needed to comfortably observe our meditation object. An example that would fit here is to consider the posture as a frame that keep inside the canvas (the body) upright with the minimum effort. Would be advisable not to lean on the back of a chair, may easily induce sleepiness.
    The second area is the breath; at the beginning may be good to follow all the breath process as you have described already, as a beginner may not be aquainted with the subtleness of his/her breath, but after a while I would advice to narrow the area of observation on the nose following the sensations of the air going in/out. Then when naturally happens that a thought comes in and brings the attention away, as soon as one realizes it, gently bring back the attention to the in/out breath and be patient, patience is the quality most needed in meditation!
